About the Children's room

The children's collection includes thousands of picture books, easy readers, fiction, biography and non-fiction items. In addition, there are magazines, books on CD, videos, CDs, DVDs and book kits with CDs.

Children's library cards can be acquired in the Children's Room. A parent or legal guardian must present two (2) official pieces of identification (first piece must be official mail dated within the past 60 days showing name and Village of Hempstead address, the second piece needs just a name) and sign the application along with the child.
